: "Tenuta di Ghizzano has decided not to make its chianti any more. But that is not the real news from this estate because, in its fifth year of release, the Nambrot has finally managed to win three Glasses. It has been redesigned with respect to previous editions. Ginevra Venerosi Pesciolini and her consultant Carlo Ferrini have thrown out the original blueprint, which was useful for experimentation. Now the wine, formerly made with only merlot, has one third cabernet sauvignon and some local grapes. This excellent strategy has made Nambrot more complex and better coordinated, without losing any of its body. Our notes from the tastings record an intense ruby colour with brilliant highlights, then a concentrated nose of good depth and balance with aromas of blackberries, cacao, coffee and spices. Soft and supple in the mouth, the wine develops elegantly, and shows its oak-derived tannins on the back palate".
