Gambero Rosso : Giovanna della Valentina's Santarosa estate joined forces with the Adami property two years ago and the new winery is beginning to find an identity of its own. The efforts in the vineyard of the exceptionnally skilled agronomist Federico Curtaz, and the cellar consultancy of oenologist Alberto Antonini, are doing the rest. The range of wines is top rank, making Santarosa one of the most exciting wineries in the Colli Bolognesi DOC zone and beyond. Two wines stand out. The first is the classic cabernet Giòrosso, a solid reliable wine with a swathe of fruit and spice aromas, austerity and velvet smoothness.
